It’s funny how things happen

I lead a team of creatives including photographers and two years ago we did an"photo safari". It was great and our team learned a lot from it. I urged everyone to edit and share their pics but as things go I never did so myself.

Tonight, while I was clearing some files I came across these pics and was compelled to edit them, giddy almost. Often my days are compiled of creativity to meet an end result. Tonight I spent a little time just to be creative for its sake-for my sake. Although editing a batch of photos isn’t anything to call home about, it is one step in the direction I want to be in. Not just leading creatives, but leading myself creativity.

Ok, recently (last summer) I was hired by a friend of mine to be his camera assistant. As some of you may not now, I am by no means a real photographer. I shoot on occasion and try to learn from people (mainly my friends) who are better than me. Much better than me. I’m surprised they let me hang out with them.

On this shoot, my buddy wanted me to be familiarized with battery powered flash kits and I went looking online. I learned a lot and the shoot was great. Being impressed by the imagery in front of me, afterwards, I became curious how much all that gear cost. And even more importantly what would it cost me to own this stuff and make some extra cash (I know right!!!??)

I didn’t know where to turn and somehow the powers that be (aka the google algorithm) showed me this video and I found it very helpful. So to all my photographers, who want the next best thing…here it is.

Lighting that can make you shots look like you didn’t use a light.
